Looking For EV Charging Points: My Experiences And A Few Tips

Owning an electric vehicle is rewarding but risky, given that it is a revolutionary piece of technology. Because of this, I made sure to have access to EV charging locations to charge my automobile, the proper maintenance techniques, and other things that revolve around the responsibility of taking care of it.

In this article, let me share my experiences finding charging stations, and I am also here to share some tips because navigating the online world is my passion and expertise.

#1: USING GOOGLE MAPS

Type the words EV charging points or related terms, and expect the mobile application to generate results you can use at your disposal. In my case, I have used Google Maps to look for nearby points whenever I am. First, turn on the location services of your mobile device. Then, open the application and type the appropriate words to search for nearby stations. From there, I chose the nearest one and set it as my destination to avoid getting lost while driving. (Tip: Always have enough data or a stable internet connection to avoid having problems.)

#2: FOLLOWING SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES

If your company of choice has social media pages for their marketing and other business campaigns, follow them because that is what I did to help me find stations across the area. First, check their official pages to avoid trusting fakes. You can look at their website for these links. The second step is to set notifications for real-time updates on their posts. It is helpful when a particular charging point is under maintenance or anything along those lines.

#3: ASKING FOR RECOMMENDATIONS

In Singapore, owning an electric car means looking for a charging point when your power decreases, and it can be challenging if you are unfamiliar with where to go. First, do not be afraid to ask for recommendations. It can be the sales representative from the dealer or a friend who owns an electric vehicle. The second option is to use social media and other online platforms. You can post a status to ask your friends or join groups to seek recommendations from other owners and auto experts.

#4: BUILDING A HABIT

You cannot count on yourself to visit just one charging point to power your vehicle because situations can change, such as the time you went to a different place or your consumption changed during a particular week. However, building a habit is essential because you can plan your errands or have a station of your choice. It can be the one near your favourite grocery because you wish to do those things on a weekend. Another example is the one near your workplace because you usually park there every day.

Those are some of the things I did to help me find EV charging points that match my lifestyle and other needs. If you own a vehicle or plan on buying one, consider these things because charging is a part of the ownership experience. Let me share my company of choice, and trust SP Mobility because they are reliable
