Why real food matters?
In years gone by we grew, traded and bartered food and we ate locally and seasonally.
Sadly now few grow their own food, albeit for a few tomatoes on the balcony, maybe.
There is a lot of misadvice, and looking at our happiness, and wellness, these relatively recent changes in our food habits appears to have had a detrimental effect on our wellness. We see more obesity now than ever in the past. Type 2 diabetes has been renamed as it used to be called adult onset diabetes but now as so many children have it, that the name had to be changed!
It is important that we regain control of who grows our food and how we eat our food. As Hippocrates said "Let food by thy medicine and medicine be thy food."
What we eat is vital to the health of our body. Fermented foods are the basis of all life. Fresh free range farm eggs and butter are great, lard is cheap and wonderful for frying food, just the way our Grandmother did.
This video below shows you why I believe a return to butter, beef fat, local vegetables, grass fed beef and raw milk cheese is the way to a healthy body. That is how I have eaten most of my life, the only time I digressed was when I suffered many health issues.
My grandparents & great-grandparents ate that way, as did many of my grandparents farming friends and acquaintances who lived well into their nineties. I have relatives that are late eighties and still fighting fit. They shy away from margarine and eat butter and go for a brisk walk each day.
I feel we can learn a lot from this!
