What is detoxing?
The act of detoxification, ridding the body of poisons over a period of time. I would add that we often need to detox negative thoughts, negative self-talk, unproductive behaviour patterns or addiction to unhealthy or addictive foods.
Actual Organics is all about creating balance and coaching you to enjoy a fuller more joyful life.
These days, the work-life balance is often out of kilter and it takes detoxing negative life patterns to create more healthful patterns. Life, and wellness coaching can assist you in your journey.
Actual Organics' top detox tips
Look at ingredients, not calories.
Eat real food not a product with long list of ingredients. Look at the ingredients on the label rather than how many calories. Calories is not a good indicator of nourishing food. Chances are if you can't pronounce the ingredients then your body won't enjoy eating them!
Butter is better!
Eating healthy fats is crucial, sadly this is still widely disputed by many. "Butter is actually one of the healthiest fasts on the planet" [1] Coconut oil and ghee are both hugely beneficial fats too, and according to many in the holistic health field, our brain needs fats to function, thus avoiding fat is not "healthy" but really unwise.
Look at your personal
care ingredients.
If you can't pronounce the ingredients in your tub of moisturiser or shower gel, then you body might not enjoy having them on the skin? Rashes, can often be a reaction to ingredients in creams. Simply using coconut oil on the skin, as many folks do, can nourish the skin and protect it.
Plants and oils have been used on our skin for thousands of years. Slick adverts for 'anti aging' creams are, relatively, recent. If you read the really teeny tiny small print on the TV adverts usually these products are tested on 100 women!
Sleep
Getting adequate sleep is crucial for cell renewal and relaxation. A warm drink before bed and a warm bath is a good way of relaxing, better still a drop of lavender oil on your pillos. Please turn the cell phone off too and ideally make sure your room is as dark as possible. Sleep is the essential anti aging solution. Some studies relate lack of sleep to cancer! [2] Relaxation and mindfullness is not a waste of time!
Probiotics are
vital!
Many think bacteria are bad- some are, some aren't. Beneficial bacteria are essential to a healthy gut flora, beneficial bacteria provide the gut with essential components it needs to detox the body, if we are doing exercise as well that is!

Breathe & walk
A brisk walk each day does the body & mind good. Enjoying walking even in your lunch hour is a great way to observe life. What do you notice as you walk? Can you sense your feet as they move over the ground? Sense your ankles and the tips of your toes. Can you notice your breathing as you walk? What colors do you see when walking? Tuning in & being body aware is beneficial for reducing our stress levels and can help to increase mental clarity.
